1 Neat idea but not a new concept whatsoever. The App Tasker does this and a WHOLE lot more. What you describe above is what a profile or two in Tasker can do.
1 Sounds like a radio problem, did you use the recommended radio for the ROM? If not, do some searching and find out which one you need.
