I got this official answer from Google Regarding LTE incompatibility on new radio. "Nexus 4 hardware and software were not designed to be compatible with LTE, and future LTE capability on today's Nexus 4 will not be possible because of hardware...
I have a wrong perception of what fastboot is... I thought fastboot where you hold the power and vol down while booting, and then selecting the file from there (I saw a brief youtube video explaining it to do it that way?) That is recovery mode....
Better yet, this rooting guide just posted over at Android Enthusiasts. Probably not as in-depth as reading 10 XDA threads, but clear and simple.
I propose the idea of filter by Build.DEVICE because it's useful for my app. You need additional filters too right ? By custom ROM? By Kernel version? Explain you needs :) Filtering by ROM / kernel is way too specific, but by device is great...
