Well if it's of any help to you, old HTC phones have a TI Audio Chip. Maybe they changed this in the Sensation since they are now advertising Hi-Fi Audio which in the best case scenario means a Wolfson 8994 Media Hub Chip.
It's a standard feature in Gingerbread because the Nexus S is completely stock Gingerbread and it still has the feature. Manufacturers may choose to disable that function however, so watch out for that.
