I've finally managed to root the son of a bitch! I used the Universal GB Root kit but with a small modification: I've added the GT-S5690 phone model to the getprop statements at the beginning of the file "META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script...
- the phone should be connected to the computer via the USB cable provided in the commercial package;
- the Settings / Applications / Development / USB Debugging option should be enabled;
- the USB drivers for the S5690 phone should...

I managed to obtain the unlock codes for some xcovers several months ago (in february). So I compared /dev/bml25 before and after the unlock operation and the only difference was in the first two bytes - both of them were changed from 01 to 00.
