i got it! i held down the power and down volume keys until the "fastboot" text. Then i used aroot to unroot phone. Then i scrolled down with the down volume key until i got to "android recovery". The android robot shows up with the exclamation...

Oh I just reread and your flashing a incorrect image. It says wrong zipped image! I actually have never seen that error before. Make sure you rename the correct image accordingly.. Hmmm, I renamed it accordingly , I'll try flashing it via pc to...
I tried that and i got "did you mean erase partition?" i believe it just said "erasing cache" after hitting enter key, then "OKAY" and finished in blah blah seconds. Found it here. http://androidcentral.us/2014/04/root-att-htc-one-m8/...
Tried the updated instructions and they worked like a charm. Only issue i had was when i had to install the custom recovery. I would get an error unable to open. Did some looking around and realized that i had to do a "fastboot erase cache" before...
