Is there any other way to get a GSM-unlocked Moto G than buying it outright?

Tip us?

Plan to use it on Ptel, but can't afford 179 dollars right now. Will the Republic Wireless, Us Cellular, or Consumer Cellular versions work on TMobile MVNOs? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

No, I don't think they will work. Tmobile uses GSM, Republic Wireless and I assume the others are all CDMA. An old Tmobile phone or a Nexus or some other pentaband GSM phone is your best bet, otherwise even if you have some other GSM phone (typicaly quad band) your data speeds maybe limited to only 2G.

Edit: gsm nexus only, the verizon branded nexus was also CDMA and won't work...
