I can't mount the usb storage so i can put a rom on it from a computer. It says it's unable to find storage partition to mount to usb. I have no OS on there so I can't boot to anything. All I have is a recovery.

Yes, Flash stock rom with fastboot or you can try "sideloading any rom" and then flashing it.....

there you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=42407269
install adb+fastboot,
while are in the bootloader you are able to flash a recovery like clockworkmode, then reboot into recovery.
if you got the correct driver you should be able to connect to your moto g while in recoery with adb.
then you are able to push, adb push *.zip /directory, or adb sideload *anyrom*. (dont forget to use install zip/use sideload..)

enjoy.
