I want to determine the effectiveness of the restore abilities of both programs for unrooted users, which includes me.

The Exposed root cloak may or may not be needed to keep each app from root knowledge.

Do a complete backup with both programs to usbdisk. Then do the following:

Delete just 1 each: app from system/app, data/app & clear data from the same system app. Then clear data from a different data app. 4 tests.
Restore from each and compare.
Thanks
Anything to do with system apps will not be able to be backed up or restored due to the needed ability to read and write to the system partition.

But each of the programs DO MAKE A full backup folder. Please read the link.

But I see that a rooted user would not be a valid test because of the WP issue.

OK, let me put it this way. You can back up anything, but not delete any system app/data/files and can not restore/write files to the system partition during a restore if you are unrooted. The only things you could backup and restore would be apps and data that are saved on your SD card.

Restoring system files can cause big issues as well. So better not worrying about those. They can always be extracted and installed clean if need be. Or you can flash system only with fast boot from an image.
