Hi guys

I looked intensively into the motomaker website and found that the developer edition will have 2 versions (GSM and CDMA), but apparently the will be unlocked.

according to the code the CDMA version are already available but the GSM version will be available in 3-5 Days.

Attached is a screen shoot of the code, I included a better formatted code below as well.

The price is set to zero, as I think that they are going to update it on release date.

Shame price's not listed. I still have a little bit of hope it'll be in the 400-500 range now that carriers aren't involved.

The latin is placeholder text to get a feel for the layout without being distracting.

I'm wondering the same thing and yes within 14 days you can trade it in. Truth is though I like my white one better than the black-and-white developer edition and I also expect it to be about $100 more expensive than what I paid for this off contract.

"Trade" ? Likely no. I doubt Verizon will be selling the Dev edition (it will probably be direct from Motorola), so VZW wont be able to "trade" or "exchange" the one you've purchased.

Return the one you purchased to Verizon, then purchase Dev Edition... Yes, if you are within you 14 day window, but will a restocking fee from Verizon apply?

Thanks for the response. I'll most likely do just that.

Will the developer version on cdma carriers get updates straight from Motorola? Or just have unlocked bootloaders ?

I found out that I would have to return my Moto X back to Verizon within 14 days of receiving as to avoid a restock fee but then I would need to order the Developer Edition from Motorola themselves.

They didn't comment about the release date of the dev edition?

IMO there's plenty of incentive for motorola to try and sell this phone for a lower price, specially to developers.

For one, "developers" should know about the nexus 4 and it's $200 price tag. Sure the Moto X is better, but $400 better is debatable.

Also selling this phone for $450 would not really interfere with people who don't mind paying $200 on contract, and at the same time would boost the sale of unlocked handsets. Win/win for motorola.

Actually, it would illustrate that the carrier off-contract price was too high, and that the subsidized price is a joke. There's zero chance of Motorola pissing off the carriers.

I just noticed that on the Moto X "How to buy" page that there was a change in format of the website to accommodate US Cellular, Sprint, and T-Mo. I wonder if this means that the dev edition might finally see the light haha.
