Update For Moto G GPE, support has not been obtained/confirmed, see post 2.
For other Qualcomm settings see post 5.

Update: Activity Launcher is the clear winner for creating the Qualcomm shortcut!

Edit: Many report they do not need this & it works as is.

This mod is for any users on 442 Vzw (& maybe some others) which is my only test build. Root is not needed. Ultra support is included. ATT & others have had it on 442 but on Vzw, I never had OTG support until I did this mod!
Now that the QC app has fixed My OTG I can set OTG to none and it still works! Lol! Go figure!

This is, at least, a stock/rootless solution. The OTG/UsbDisk is now system wide! /storage/UsbDisk! Root Explorer/Explorer (free)!

You need to create a shortcut to qualcomm settings.
The: com.qualcomm.qualcommsettings.apk is in your system/app!

I use Super Manager donation. The free version works too.
Apk manager:
3-dot menu
Filter sys & installed app
Sys app only
Long press on any file to select sort by display name
Scroll to com.qualcomm.qualcommsettings, tap!
Choose activity button,
.QualcommSettings
The gear: launches the activity,
The arrow creates a shortcut on homescreen.
The standard issue "Documents" apk browses UsbDisk too, but this stock app is also not available w/o a shortcut creation via QuickShortcut: Edit Documents is not reliable as a user started file browser. It works as a system/file uploader only.

Then enable usb mass storage and OTG mode - peripheral. The usb will get reset but there is no need to keep it on. OTG mode sticks. I did both. You should too!
Done.
Use Your favorite filer app to browse: /storage/UsbDisk. Permissions will be rwx+.

You have a new mount/unmount option in settings/storage:

Be sure to use (^ above button) the unmount command as forgetting you have a write operation in progress and yanking out the otg adapter can trash your SD card!

You may use many apps to browse your new /storage/UsbDisk, this is a good one.

No need to download the attached apk. It is in your system apps already. But some custom ROMs may not have it.

More info? About other QC settings.

Please post your QC settings you use. This is all a bit new to me too.

Here are all my 442 qc apk's USE THEM FOR MOTOROLA G-GPE ONLY.

USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK
BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP

IF NOT ROOTED, BACKUP YOUR APK'S WITH SUPER MANAGER DONATION/ APK'S MANAGER/ bAPK BUTTON. ONE APK AT A TIME IS ALL THAT WORKS W/O ROOT for system apps.

No root backup alternative. Moto x toolkit.

IF UNLOCKED USE CUSTOM RECOVERY.

IF ROOTED USE SAFESTRAP.

I just tried this on my Droid Maxx, and I can mount my Meenova adapter again.

You don't need to do this to use stick mount

@bigv5150 With root access you are right.

Edit
The choose file manager does not seem to work. It uses Documents no matter what. At least we have good uploader with documents.

More on Qualcomm settings as a standalone app (WIP).

To all,
I would like to post the com.qualcomm.qualcommsettings.apk from 4.2.2 & 4.4.0.
Would someone up a copy of each if they differ from the 4.4.2-2 ver?

OK. Now that OTG is working. Does anyone know what the capacity of it is? I tried a 64gb in my adapter & no read. The 16gb works. Is 32 GB the limit?
