Just got an update for Motorola Connect via the Play Store where it now supports MMS.

Great Update.

What's New
- Added support for receiving MMS (picture & group messaging).
- Receive picture messages
- Reply to picture messages via SMS (text message)
- Receive group messages
- Reply to group messages individually via SMS
- Improved contact matching & phone number format (requires new permission for coarse location, which only identifies country locale).

I am thinking the Chrome app may need an update too so this will be fully supported.

Very good update. If Motorola keeps on this path it will not matter who the patent company is.
