Default convert carrier device to unlocked/developer

Ive got a carrier edition moto x (rogers) and want to convert it to the developer or tmobile version so I can get updates from motorola vs waiting forever...
Ive searched and cannot find the relevant info.

ive only rooted nexus devices this far.

End result im looking for is a unrooted device that can receive OTA updates from motorola

Appreciate any help

All Devices receive their updates direct from Moto....

Even if you do this, you still won't be the first to get updates. Almost every update so far has been "staggered" amongst the different carriers. One carrier got KK first, one got 4.4.3 first, VZW got 4.4.4 first....

Rogers WILL be on 4.4.4 very soon...

Looking for a new carrier? Check out Republic Wireless!
Plans starting at $10 for unlimited talk/text and $25 with unlimited data.
Use this link to save $20. RW is my carrier and I couldn't be happier with them.

I successfully CRACKED the SIM-LOCK on the Sprint XT1056 Moto X. Read about it HERE
