[Q]especially gsm dev ed owners:want to update to kk 4.4.2 if just to take care of...Heartbleed but concerned about losing ability to unlock bootloader according to forums.motorola.com/posts/c8266361eb <<< so any truth??!! Or lose this ability only on the NON Dev Ed phones only??!
Equally important: any other reported issues for 4.4.2 besides possibly boot loader issue (would be going from 4.2.2)??
Thanks for everyone's help,
EDIT: ADD https for above given link to work

Reason: to make given link work add https back to it
If you have a Dev Ed Moto X you can take the updates and then re-unlock or unlock and root. Also, there is no reason to roll back to other firmwares like the OP of that post did. Looks like he bricked his phone when he tried to roll back to 4.2.2 for whatever idiotic reason. If you do a search here it's covered a lot, if you have a DE you can take all the updates and then unlock and root via the Motorola site. You can even unlock and root prior to taking the updates. Once you try to roll back to a previous version you WILL brick your phone. It's been covered repeatedly.

XDA Developers was founded by developers, for developers. It is now a valuable resource for people who want to make the most of their mobile devices, from customizing the look and feel to adding new functionality. Are you a developer?
