Sorry if this is a real noob question but I just want to make sure I dont mess anything up. I am on a VZW non rooted non-DE moto x with 4.4 and I have decided to root my phone. I have decided to use the moto x toolkit v1.3.1; I am familiar with ADB and everything required to root but not overly comfortable. I have previously rooted a droid maxx and that went very well but I would like to use the toolkit for my moto x.

My question comes about the toolkit needing "ADB root". The OP says that "ADB needs root for this toolkit to make changes for you, if you open the toolkit, you can check ADB root under Option 15. If ADB does not have root, you will need to install an app called adbd Insecure - Google it."
So, I googled it and found out that it is indeed a [Root] app. Will I be able to use the toolkit to downgrade to the 4.2.2 camera upgrade? Or, will I need to use ADB and downgrade to 4.2.2 and then root using Rockmymoto and then I can begin using the toolkit?
