I've been following this guide http://www.reddit.com/r/MotoX/commen...per_moto_x_44/ for rooting my Moto X but once I reach step 8, it says Dalvik VM can't locate "SlapMyMoto" Here's the entire error:

~ $ dalvikvm -cp /sdcard/SlapMyMoto.jar SlapMyMoto.
Dalvik VM unable to locate class 'SlapMyMoto/'
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: SlapMyMoto/
at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method)
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Didn't find class "SlapMyMoto." on path: /sdcard/SlapMyMoto.jar
at dalvik.system.BaseDexClassLoader.findClass(BaseDex ClassLoader.java:65)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:5 01)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:4 61)
... 1 more

Help please

Change what you posted:

~ $ dalvikvm -cp /sdcard/SlapMyMoto.jar SlapMyMoto.

to:

dalvikvm -cp /sdcard/SlapMyMoto.jar SlapMyMoto

Notice the trailing "." is gone.

edit, use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2538896

Not some red thingy.

And I haven't even done those mods yet! But having decades of command line experience help to notice these things! Good luck!!!

Please post a link to XDA on the red post! If any XDA people see it, they might want to stab it
