[Q] Change Dns Kitkat 4.4

Should be the same as always.
- Touch and hold on the network you want to change
- Choose Modify network
- Check Show advanced options
- Change the DNS settings
Hmm...not sure. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do it on 4.3 and above. Not that I've found so far, anyway. One kind of roundabout way might be to make a VPN connection, and then specify the DNS settings for the VPN connection? Not sure about that, but it seems like it might work.

Does it work? Reviewers say it doesn't work with Android 4.3 (and we can assume 4.4).
I didn't know if you have 4.3+. I asked, because as recently as 4 days ago, reviewers of the app said it doesn't work on 4.3.

Hi, I am the developer of DNSwitch.
I got contradicting reports that on 4.3+ it doesn't do it or does what it's supposed to do and have started looking for info if there is any API change. And ended up here. It could be just trolls (to push the paid competition, for example) so confirmation would be helpful. So is this a definitive YES that it does work on your device?
Anyone else's info on the subject would be welcome as well, of course.

Have you tried dnsquache?
It works for me. It uses DNSmasq to work

I don't get that 'OpenDNS filters' thing. Does that mean the dns port is blocked by your ISP? In that case you really only can channel out your DNS requests thru vpn (nice enough by them to allow port 443/https traffic, I suppose?
)Blocking basic internet services is dumb IMHO...

3I developed an app "DNS forwarder". It does not change dns server on system, but forward dns queries to another server. It works fine for me on Kitkat (Nexus 5/4.4.3 and Moto Razr/CM11). Hope it can help other as well.

I would like to emphasis, that this method should work with any rom that support init.d. I just added the script to my cm11 rom, reboot, and smooth sailing.
