Default [Q] Nexus 4 IPS display?

So my mom recently got a nexus 4 and the viewing angles on the phome are really bad. I was wondering if this is normal. To me this is not normal because it claimes to ha've a IPS display and it dosent look like a IPS to me. I'll attatch some photos. Well at least when I have acces to a computer I will. The black turn gray when looked at a angle. The colors go washed out when viewed at a angle. She still has a couple more days to exchange her phone. Thanks!!!

It is ips

Not all ips screens are created equal. Some are better than others.

If it's a deal breaker for your mom, the phone is not for her. Get rid of it

Not trying to be offensive but Its a phone. As if in daily use you'd be dependent on the displays viewing angle. You hold it in front of you anyway.

Yeah. It's a phone; in what real-life situation will you be needing to look at it at a 45 degree angle?

Well... I was just wondering... Cause if it claims to be IPS I want IPS.

Well as I and others have said. It is IPS.

It doesn't have the best off access viewing by any means. But I haven't seen anything that bad as the pictures on the 3 nexus 4s I have dealt with in person.

Just recorded this with my tablet for example.

Those pictures do look pretty bad. I mean if you can exchange it I would.

Edit- I was outside when I compared it to my phone. I held my phone under my jacket and I get that glazed/frosted look.
I'm pretty sure that's just the nature of light. It looks like you have her brightness all the way up and you're indoors. Steps outside with it or turn the brightness down/auto brightness.
