There's very little reason to want to run permissive these days, especially with recent revelations about the stagefright security crisis for devices with mobile data and MMS (not flo, obviously). If you just want an app like viper4android to work, there's a workaround for that to run the app successfully while remaining in enforcing mode...

i didn't find the workaround, but found an option in the rom i was using, to put it to permissive. i'll try to find the workaround you speak of because it's exactly for V4a

It's posted in the official thread somewhere... But, here you go:

Just flash in recovery. Adds a script to enable viper in /su.d that enables v4a in enforcing mode, su policy mod.

The build.prop tweaks and cm .libs are also in the official viper thread...
