I'e just learned to live with it (even after the fix posed here). I assume others have done the same. Neither Google nor ASUS care to address this issue.

Thanks I guess that is all i need to know as much as I love nexus I don't think I'll buy it , had problems with 2012 nexus and the nexus s my nexus 5 is great except the wake bug in 4.4.4 and the noisey power button

No, It's not over. I still face issues on an hourly basis. I don't think it will ever be solved if you ask me.

For what it's worth, I bought mine in January, and I haven't had any issues (of any kind) with it.

I had trouble with mine right out of the box which I first got in April. Did a factory reset and all was good until I upgraded to 4.4. A factory reset cleared it up again.

Mine doesn't have the smoothest scroll but otherwise it's been OK.
