Default USB OTG not recognizing

Hi! I've recently bought my nexus 7 (flo) but, no matter what I do it just won't read my USB. I've already tried nexus media importer and stickmount rooted and non-rooted and even installed elementals kernel. Please help, here's a screenshot attached.Click image for larger version

Tried a different OTG cable or different drive? I know a bad cable can cause issues.

I could also be the fact that you are running android L. The os has quite a lot of comparability issues (although I'm not sure if its just a theme or not)
