Hello,

your problem might be solved meanwhile, but it might help to get rid of a casing (with magnets to auto turn on/off the device when opening/closing it) for some time, if you have one.
Mine seems to be slightly too powerful and pretty certain caused my device to act as you described.

Presumably, the culpit is the rotation sensor in the device that might have got stuck. Usually a reboot helps with this kind of problems, but it didn't for me. After I removed my cover for some time, it suddenly worked again.
Anyway, dunno if problems with the sensor could arise from magnetism, but those were my observations.

Hope it helps nevertheless.

Cheers,
Nix
