OK... I've found a sturdy USB cable/connector which somehow works, now I can recharge the phone (although sometimes it loses the connection). Still, the USB port is definitely damaged and the NFC/GPS antenna contacts on the back are broken, so I'll shorty need a new phone (I'm hoping for a new Nexus 5 in May at the Google I/O ).

My Nexus S is gone... the USB port is totally broken... I should solder a new USB port to resurrect it...
