OK... I've found a sturdy USB cable/connector which somehow works, now I can recharge the phone (although sometimes it loses the connection). Still, the USB port is definitely damaged and the NFC/GPS antenna contacts on the back are broken, so I'll shorty need a new phone (I'm hoping for a new Nexus 5 in May at the Google I/O ).

My Nexus S is gone... the USB port is totally broken... I should solder a new USB port to resurrect it...

I must say that I love guru. Combination of Guru with Ehndroix is superb! I can use this old machine without much lag.

I soldered a new micro USB port but it still has some issues... I have to see if I can fix the phone...

I can't fix the micro USB connection so I can't recharge the phone anymore and I can't connect it to my PC: project discontinued
