Factory Reset = Speed up phone?

Will running the factory reset option on the Nexus S speed it up or will it not help? (it takes about 30 seconds to open gallery and 10s to open the phone app)...incredibly slow.

I would root it etc but i cant seem to get it to work, this is my thread where i describe my failure :

(there is one last recommendation in there that I hadnt noticed which I will try tonight).

give a try to pdanet. It will solve your problem. Otherwise i will tell you something more...

Is it android 1.0 driver in device manager when you put your phone into bootloader?
