Rename the file and reboot then do a prl & profile update. then check for system update once more and it should let you know that your system is up to date. That should stop the ota notifications and also the error when trying to download & install the ota. If you really want the ota then you should odin flash the stock unrooted rom and take the ota's that way. Ota's always fail on rooted custom roms.

Worked , thanks!

can't flash...
I have a problem flashing this rom.
1) I was on jellybomb final version, thank god for back up
2) full wipe, flashed liquid smooth rom.
3) didn't like it (hehe) so downloaded Rwilco12 rom.
4) did full wipe, flashed successfully via TWRP.
5) when rebooting for the first time after the successful flash, the awesome bootscreen comes up, and I would wait thinking rom is just setting up for first time use. However, the screen freezes in the boot screen.

I tried reflashing it with newly downloaded zip file, but same thing happens.

Any idea why this may have happened?

Not sure maybe others can chime in but the Op calls for installing via phils touch instead of twrp. ..

This rom wil definitely fill your needs! Hey, for future reference, if that ever happens again (after flashing a rom) try doing a factory feset in recovery then reboot system. A lot of times that will solve it. But yes, Phil's recovery has been very compatible with all roms across the board.

It should be located in etc\security

I may have gone too far but this is all I did to kill the Ota prompts..

It's just telling you that your current device is susceptible to the exploit used in Towelroot and is just an ad from the app trying to get you to download another of their apps.
