Yup. thats correct MIUI has its own Root option going on, no need to flash super SU which takes me back to my previous questions, how to go back to stock Rom easily (using a nandroid backup) after installing MIUI which overwrites custom recovery?

Flash your usual recovery after MIUI.
or
Delete install of recovery in updater script
or
Delete recovery image in zip file.

Good news to all MIUI fans, just flashed the official MIUI version on my OPO and it doesn't touch your custom recovery, so no need to do any of the above, thanks a lot though!
