There are some test commits for 5.0.
Don't think it would make much sense implementing it on 5.0. My guess is the final TRDS version will be implemented in Slim 5.1

After discussing with @dankoman (the TRDS dev) it's my understanding we should be able to switch between stock/TRDS and a custom layer theme by the flip of a switch
