Indeed! it fails on DownloadProviderUI.apk, which is one of the files in the fix

The downloadprovider fix isnt signed, so OTA doesnt work.

I found a semi solution to the update issue.

We need to flash the full 5.5.23 zip not the incremental.

Then flash gaaps again.

Now you can stay stock with gplay issue or flash the zip fix again.

I have done exactly that, but am not sure the play fix works, as am unable to update through play store.

these were what i had done..i am from v5.5.20 and today there is an update to v5.5.23..

1) update/download the update file through ota..
2)enter recovery and wipe system, cache and dalvik
3)flash full zip of v5.5.20 (449mb size)
4)flash ota zip of v5.5.23 (55++ mb)
5)flash play store storage zip file
6)flash 4.4 pa nano gapps
7)flash supersu zip
8)reboot system

I'm having a serious battery drain on google play services. On CM you could disable the wakelocks in privacy guard. Any solution for this in MIUI?

Install Xposed and wakelock terminator and use wakelock terminator to block google services wakelocks and filter on SystemUpdateService and it should be OK.

This is how I do and no more battery drain from google play services.

Search google for wakelock terminator to find how-to
