Just installed the network speed indicator and noticed that I have constant network activity that I just can't get rid of.
On my Nexus 5 I had aokp installed and the indicator was part of the rom and after settings things up and disabling all auto update in apps I had (for the most time) zero network activity.
Now on my bacon I have the same apps, with the same setup (even uninstalled a couple apps) but the newtork activity just won't stop.
I just downloaded the "Network Connections" app and it seems that "Google Contacts Sync" uses the network all the time.
I already tried turning off all sync functions, but it just won't stop.
I mean it's only a couple of bytes most of the time... but shouldn't it be dead silent, when sync is turned off?

Yeah, mine is constantly using 150 bytes to 1KB at all times. Strange.

It collects and sends all your contact to OPO to secure the customer base to know whom they can send the invites in future.
ROFL!

But, seriously , it's not ok.
My Xperia Z is dead silent. But this little chinese OPO Snowden talks too much to my taste.

It really does seem a little too chatty.
Never had that on my gnex nor on my nexus 5.
And I just don't know what else I could turn off... As far as I see, I disabled everything that might cause the activity, but it still won't stop sending and receiving a couple of bytes every second.

I don't have this problem, but I have auto-sync turned off.

This is getting silly.
I was able to stop the "Google Contacts Sync" activity by deleting maps and now the Google Backup Transport won't stop.
I don't get it...

Me too.
I don't have one single function on this phone anymore that is allowed to sync.
No notifications, no weather updates, no syncs, nothing.
Like I said...I don't get it.

Ps. This is getting ridiculous, I'm gonna start from scratch, see if that helps.
Thanks anyway, guys.
