In your haste to be correct, you're misleading him. True, CyanogenMod is not AOSP, however CM nightly users still flash the AOSP version of Franco's kernel. The kernels are split, one version for CM11S, the AOSP version for everything else (including CM11). Right now, those two versions are identical. However, whenever CM releases a new version of CM1XS that contains specific things that aren't in CM11, the split will occur again.
