To gain root, you have to go to Settings/Developer Options/ root, and change to apps and adb. Nor sure why they did this, kinda stupid, but that's what you do. Now, if you don't see developer options in settings, go to about, find build number at the bottom, a day tap it constantly until you see a counter pop up. Keep tapping. It'll tell you Developer Options are enabled.

Update in OP. All the new goodies from Slim team, and I switched kernels, source is in OP. And finally... the Camera patch is fully functional. Enjoy

It's intentionally small. That's how Slim does it so I don't want to change that, unless everyone wanted it changed. You can change it though if you'd like.

Sorry, forgot to mention if you didn't know. You can change it using several apps like kernel tweaker for example. You could also edit the buildprop manually, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's simpler and safer to just use an app.

Eventually, hopefully. It's a huge pain right now. I remember now when I first learned to build I tried this and now getting the same errors. Little better at it these days though so hopefully I'll get some time soon to figure it out. Haven't forgotten, it's actually bugging me to figure it out.
