Hi. Firstly thanks OP I managed to root my phone fine.

I just had a followup question to the question you have answered ICUAL. I don't mind deleted apps being gone forever but what happens if I do a factory reset? Will everything be working fine just w/o those deleted apps? Second, will the device stay rooted or do I need to re-root after factory reset?

Other less pressing queries:
Also, could an update to KK cause issues or at the most would the worst be that it just isn't rooted any more?
Lastly, could there be any issues getting my Razr i repaired due to root. I'm just outside of warranty anyway and my battery is failing so I suppose even if I can find a place to repair it, root wouldn't matter.

Thanks!

I try to answer:

After FactoryReset it is still rooted. Just install SuperSU again.
A FactoryReset will only delete Accounts, settings, userdata, and apps from Playstore.

If everything is working fine w/o some system-apps, it should also do so after Factory Reset.
If not you can easy flash stock rom with RSD-Lite.

After KK-Update Root is lost. The System-partition will be deleted.
I hope there will be a root-method again without unlocked BL...

Root is no problem outside warranty. Just backup your personal data.
And you can replace the battery by yourself, it's not that complicated

Correct me if I'm wrong but when updating the Android via OTA you won't loose root when using voodoo rootkeeper, correct?
Only when flashing via RSD you loose it all.

Edit: jcase, who developed the exploit for 4.1.2 using my phone is also on a break and is not working on any new exploits, so most likely there won't be any root with a locked bootloader anytime soon (unless you use the voodoo rootkeeper

RAZR i XT890 root question
Hello, I have followed the steps to root my XT890. I think that the operation completed successfully.

However, I would like to know, if there's any method to verify that the root was successful?

Thanks!

Of course it is not working for KK since it was developed for JB. It will also never support KK. If you want root support on KK with a locked BL, either keep root when upgrading from JB or see if there is a new exploit with the Saurik Impactor that works for KK

Are there any news for rooting kitkat?
Is it only still possible by using twrp?
I don't want to use twrp, so I hope for good news =)
