@hypnz

it seems that a powerful smartphone like dhd (or other running android) doesn't has this cheap function implemented, like old any nokia phone. manufacturer/developers didn't bother to check this out either.
of course, with a 500$ phone we'll have to guess if other partner is already on a call, when he not responding to us.
(hope guys from cm7 will find a way to add this function. I don't know but I have a hunch to this)

Maybe it's provider related as I get different beep when on hold, like I did with other phones

Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App

For me I get either a busy tone (when the other person is dialing a number) or I get a voice message from my operator that the called person is in a different call -- maybe it is related to your operator/radio/RIL combo?

Anyone know why data turns off when on a call on 3g with cm7? Its been doing this with nightly and stable build alike for a while now.

Gets annoying if need to look something up while on a call. This was one of the points of 3g

of course it is related to the operator, but why all (almost) old nokia phones playing a beep when I'm calling someone that it's already in a conversation and it doesn't matter which operator it is (all 3 operators in my country)? we assume that other partner we're calling has "call waiting service" active.
main issue is coming from phone, I guess. if a nokia can playing a beep, I'm thinking of operator on second thought.

This seems to related to the switch to G-RIL. I encounter the same issue and the problem goes away after I flash the HM RIL. I guess how well this G-RIL and HM-RIL thing work is very carrier dependent ( I don't recall I've experience any crash with the HM RIL that come with the pre G-RIL nighties either ).

Hey everyone and anyone. I am having two recurrent issues and was hoping for some advice. Here's the problems...

1) My phone seems to randomly lose all network connectivity through apps such as XDA and G reader. I receive a message saying "network error: no peer certificate." Bizarrely this does not seem to affect the default browser. It can be fixed by a restart of the phone.

2) My phone loses time and date settings after a restart. Any suggestions why?

Thanks for any tips

Well is matter of the phone not operator. Can be implement in next nightly?
Thanks for your time

For those who have problems with the hold button, I've made a small mod of Phone.apk that allows you to hide this button.

To apply this mod simply overwrite the existing apk with the modified one:
Code:
adb remount
adb push Phone.apk /system/app/

Now you can find the mod option by going to (Android) Settings -> Call settings -> Hide Hold button.

Before the submission on CM Gerrit I'd like to have some feedback :)

PS
Like any good Italian my english sucks, so if you have any suggestions for a better summary and/or title of the mod setting feel free to post.

JD82: works nicely. But how can we now actually put caller on hold if required? Menu seems to not be accessible during a phone call.

This thread is reserve for nightly build of CyanogenMod Rom for HTC Desire HD & Inspire

    @Kali-
Are you already working on CM9?
What are your plans regarding ICS on DHD?

    we are working on it

Android with 4.0 got hw accellerated ui, this require a new code which was published by Qualcomm few days ago, but it was made for their newer 3.0 kernel, some feature need to backported to 2.6.35 kernel (too many api changes for port forward)
we have some patch to get an accellerated ui, but is bugged and lack GL support.

audio works, we have a wrapper to play with older lib, probably next week i will port all htc stuff to qcom audio source

camera probably well be a little tricky (i still have to check it)

gps gb works on ics too (no api chanes)

    data and call is working

sorry i didnt read the last pages. i guess the result stays the same. if power off works with google voice, drain is great.

i looked into the voice thing - and to make my own life more easy, i hacked a way into the driver to query power status.

    http://www.filesonic.com/file/172299981/mad-#3-aic3254pd_signed.zip

i hope this link last longer as the dropbox link - you guys killed my dropbox account -.- yet nearly noone pressed the damn thanks button ):

i didnt find yet, why you need to use the microphone so power down works. i first thought about an error in the driver, but the driver seams okay - its probably connected to the second microphone of ace. like if not both are switched off, driver doesnt power down. needs more investigation.

    get power status:

    Code:
    [sven@frink xbin]$ adb shell aic3254pd status
Power status of aic3254 chip: OFF

or in terminal on phone just

    Code:
    localhost / # aic3254pd status
Power status of aic3254 chip: OFF

like usual, flash this zip after any nightly - it changes the kernel now and add those 2 files. default kernel cannot keep track of power status and will show allways on (or off?)

i also set up some script files to easily generate new mad_signed.zip files without all the manual work.

i would like to see more feedback on when power off works, and when not. i started writing a widget, copied the home-screen-tips-widget for it, but it wont show up in lists of widgets - would be perfect to see the status of dsp chip on homescreen. on the other hand, once the problem is properly fixed, wont be needed anymore.

hope this keeps you up with some testing, we soon find out in which cases it wont power down, and finally fix the issue. hope the command line status query helps you as much as me...

    regards
    mad

edit: oh, since this daemon costs about zero cpu power, i decreased power-off request form 60 seconds to 20 seconds...

    edit2: changelog

    #1: initial release
    #2: added kernel and status
#3: addind missing wifi module of #2
