Simply copy the zip file to your internal or external sdcard and reboot into recovery. Choose install zip from the menu and select the t679-root zip file. When it completes, you are rooted! Also installed are Busybox, Superuser.apk and su. Additionally, when finished you will have ClockworkMod 5.5.0.4 installed as well.

To boot into stock recovery, press and hold Vol-up then press power. After the plain white samsung logo appears, continue to hold the keys for two or three seconds then release. Recovery should start. However, sometimes recovery is balky...it may take more than one try. When you see the box with the protruding arrow, press your menu key, far-left on the capacitive menubar.

This kernel is suitable for any stock (or stockish) Samsung Exhibit II 4g. Feel free to use it for your own projects. I don't insist on credit, but I do appreciate it.
