all this confusion about the new platypus t5 by derteufel is ridiculous.

I usually dont say this but with 120% live OC with custom voltages for my phone, I have never seen such performance on i9000. I can even tune internal voltage settings easily using nstools to make my kernel low leakage. (ultimate custom oc stability)

in addition the new fiops scheduler for flash drives, lulzactive governor and various new memory optimizations on the new kernel/toolchain is f*cking amazing! dont even get lags after a day anymore. (no music skips or anything even with deepidle v1)

I really recommend everybody to try it ASAP!! PLZ pm me if you have any issues on the new platypus I can help you to a certain extent.

thanks derteufel and lippo (seriously considering opening a paypal account just because of the new kernel)

p.s. everybody should do the datadata trick posted on the OP even if they have enough room in their system. sped things up for me by quite a bit.

Q: is it possible to provide a "Dutch Translation Pack 2.2.17" OTA :)

I've noticed Dutch Translation Pack 2.2.10 does not work with this latest build, in fact when I try to install this pack via Recovery , device goes in a boot-loop
So I flashed again without the Dutch Translation Pack :D

Keep up the good work

Thanks in advance,
Phil.

Yop Phil, if you can give me the link to the official Dutch MIUI, I could build the Dutch translation pack for Mintberry.
[edit] Found the link http://www.miui.nl/?page_id=1856 so I do it and upload it now [/edit]

Strange.
On my phone, no issue at all with new release.
On the phone of my son, no carrier available (no provider)
Even if I go into the settings and check for available providers (here in Belgium, 3 are detected on my phone) I can't see any of them.
When I plug my sim card into his phone, same behaviour.
I tried to wipe cache + wipe dalvik + flash, no change
I tried to factory reset + wipe cache + wipe dalvik + flash, no change.

What could I do ? (he was already using mintberry, but an older version)

Thank you for your precious help :)

You can try to flash a different modem? siky dude has a thread regarding cm7/miui modems which is helpful.

usually a quick toggle of aiirplane mode on and off does the trick for me.

worse case scenario you may have to search how to restore your imei for i9000

(easy way of doing this is to reflash stock samsung rom)

hope this helps.

Toggle airplane mode did not help.
I have doubt with modem because (1) it is the same as mine and (2) it was working with previous mintberries ...

Really strange. I will try to flash back older mintberry, just to test.
If I have no other options, I will flash back samsung (no big issue because I got a full miui backup)

So your configuration is:
Governor: lulzactive
LiveOC: 120%
What about voltages values and scheduler?

So flashed today at work.

Battery life is still the same with DerTeufel Kernel as it was before. Very good!
Didn´t change much, just set min freq to 200 and max freq to 1000.
Gov is ondemand. Deepsleep is fully working. Tested with CPU Spy.

BLN is fully working out of the box. All the other stuff given at NSTools I
didn´t touch.

All the other guys who talking about battery life should let their battery calibrate first.
Mine is. Thats why I always flash with 100% battery.

External SD Card is fully working. Moved a bunch of music now and no
problems. Everything copied fine.

@tobias:
- ics transitions would be nice
- without indicators pls

    Q) I'm having bootloops/hanging on boot since I've flashed 1.12.25 (or following releases)! What can I do?

    A) Since 1.12.25 the base kernel of MIUI Mintberry has been changed to FuguMod as it provides best performance and battery life. Though it uses a different partition map than other kernels so it requires a one-time-only procedure to set your phone up.
    • Get Fugumod kernel and latest Mintberry available
    • Place both in your SDCARD
    • Reboot into recovery
    • Flash Fugumod
    • Reboot into recovery
    • Wipe Data / Factory reset (this will delete all apps and data, do a backup with Titanium or else if you need those)
    • Format /system
    • Flash latest Mintberry
    • Reboot

From now on you can flash without any problem every Mintberry release. If you have to change kernel follow the same steps with the chosen one.

    Q) I have autobrightness issues! Screen is always at highest (or lowest) brightness

    A) Apparently something went wrong during installation procedure. Flash the ROM again to get rid of that bug (Wipe Cache after flashing to be sure)

    Q) You wrote on Open Post that this ROM supports 9 languages but I can't find them!

    A) MIUI Mintberry is strongly connected with a great app developed here on XDA: App Manager. It provides many useful features to take advantage of root privileges.
One great feature is ROMManager which let you to download directly on your phone flashable zip packages provided by us, such as Language Packs.
So to get them (and ROM updates when available) follow these steps:

    1. Open App Manager
    2. Tap on ROM Manager
    3. Select MIUI Mintberry EDITION
    4. Click on language pack for your current MIUI version
    5. Tap on Download
    6. When Download is finished, reboot into recovery
    7. Flash it from /sdcard/romtoolbox/download/MIUI_mintberry

    Q) I see a green tint when the display is dimming.

    A) This issue appears when mixing punchy settings on Voodoo Color with low brightness levels. Please, follow these steps:

    1. Go to Settings/Personal/Display Settings
    2. Set Automatic brightness ON
    3. Tap on Advanced mode
    4. Switch "Use custom" ON
    5. Tap on "Light level to dim" and set it to 20 (default)

Now you can keep automatic brightness on, if you want, or just switch it off.

    Q) I'm using a kernel with VC and the colors look very ugly!

    A) I suggest you one possibile configuration, but you can tweak the values as you like until you're satisfied with the results.

    1. Open Voodoo Control
    2. in "Color profiles" choose Voodoo profile
    3. in "Screen RGB multipliers" set Red to 321*, Green to 321*, and Blue to 395*
    4. in "Screen v1 gamma hack" choose Punchy settings

    Q) The external speaker volume is too low.

    A) That's normal. Make sure you have DSP Manager to tweak some settings as described:

    1. Open DSP Manager
    2. Select Phone Speaker
    3. Enable the equalizer
    4. Tap on the picture below
    5. Slide the latest three values up to 3.0

If you think the trebles are too high, set a slightly lower value than 3.0 on the last one.

Q)The datadata folder is too small! (a.k.a. "It says the data partition is full when trying to install an application, but it's not!)

    A) This is a CM7 bug that's been present since the first ports. I think there is a reason behind this choice because /datadata is a mount point, however... let's apply this little dirty workaround:

    1. Open AppManager --> Root Explorer or any equivalent app
    2. Delete folder /data/data
    2. Copy folder /datadata to /data/
    3. Change name of folder /data/datadata to /data/data/

Don't worry: you won't lose any app or data after doing this.

    Q) It doesn't find my operator at startup, but everything's fine after some time.

    A) If you tried flashing many modems and are sick of being roamed to another operator at startup and having to set your network operator manually or waiting for it to show up later, just follow these simple steps:

    1. Go to Settings/System/Mobile Network Settings
    2. Make sure Data roaming is set to OFF
    3. Tap on "Network type selection";
    4. Select "Only 3G"

    Q) Where can I download modems for MIUI Mintberry?

    A) MIUI, being based on CM7, uses the same modems so download your favourite from the great thread made by siky_dude: [CM7/MIUI/ICS][06.11.11] Modems + Bootloaders(MD5)

    MIUI MINTBERRY TRANSLATION PROJECT

Since MIUI Minberry is growing up and every day more users start to run it as main firmware we're ready for the next step: provinding MIUI experience in every language

So one user for language will be the weekly deliver of a language pack which will be available via OTA.

    How to do so easily?

    With this simple guide:
    • Download latest traslation pack or translated ROM from your MIUI national team
    • Extract framework-res.apk from /system/framework and every apk from /system/app except for Miliao.apk, MIUIStats.apk, TelocationProvider.apk, Updater.apk
    • Download MintBerry Translation Template
    • Add to our template the extracted apks in their proper folders (framework-res.apk to /system/framework and all the others to /system/app)
    • Rename the zip package replacing release with the number of the release (e.g. 1.11.11) and NATIONALITY with your country code (e.g. EN)
    • Upload translated zip package to http://multiupload.com (every other site will work aswell)
    • PM me the link and I'll add it to OTA service

So, if you feel to help us and every other mintberry user PM me with:
    • Name
    • Email address
    • Nationality

And you'll recieve the upcoming release like beta-testers.

    Thanks a lot guys!

    Waiting your emails :p

    MIUI MINTBERRY 2.2.24 - PATCHER
    ----------------------------------------------------

As I said this morning, I won't release an entire new ROM this week. It's pretty much pointless as the changelog from MIUI China is ridiculous .
But I had many things to fix or speed up so I decided to provide a simple and easy to flash value-pack or patch if you will.

ATTENTION: This is not a full rom. Apply it on 2.2.17 release.

    -----------------
    Changelog
    -----------------

    - Kernel switched to Glitch 13.1 (seems to be the best atm)
    - New scripts to avoid lags after a day of usage
    - More free RAM (80MB supercharger)
    - New Vexillum Theme V4 updated to 1.3.1 release.

    ----------------
    HOW-TO
    ----------------
    - Download it
    - Place it into sdcard
    - Flash it via CWM
    - Reboot
    - That's it

    ----------------
    Download
    ----------------
