azothyran's ultimate guide to tablet mode!(this guide is awsome....however this is azothyran's)
note: This will require a few reboots, and downloading an application.
Step 1: Download nova launcher , hit your home button, and set nova launcher as your default launcher.
Step 2: Go to settings -> paranoid settings -> workspace
step 3: Select tablet ui (mid) and allow the reboot.
Step 4: Go to settings -> paranoid settings -> user interface
step 5: Set the following values:
Workspace ui: Tablet mode
system apps: Tablet mode
user apps: Tablet mode
sliders:
System apps default size: 200
user apps default size: 200
statusbar size: 180
lockscreen size: 185
click apply in the top right corner and reboot.
- for optimum visuals follow the rest of the tutorial below
step 6: Go to settings -> paranoid settings -> apps -> nova launcher
step 7: Make sure size is set to 200. Slide your finger from the right side of the screen to the left, to go to the layout / ui tab. Set the drop down menu to 1. 360px. Click apply in the top left.
Step 8: Go to settings -> launcher -> dock -> dock icons [set to 7]
step 9: Go to settings -> launcher -> drawer -> drawer app grid (and hold your phone in portrait mode) [set to 6 rows / 5 columns]
step 10: Go back into drawer app grid and rotate your device to landscape. [set to 4 rows / 6 columns]
step 11: Go to settings -> launcher -> desktop -> desktop grid and make sure it is set to 5 rows / 7 columns
- app specific size settings:
Try out the keyboard. If you don't like it and want the old one back:
Go to settings -> paranoid settings -> apps -> android keyboard (aosp)
slide your finger from the right side of the screen to the left to switch to the layout/ui tab. Set it for 1. 360px.
Slide your finger right to left again, to the force tab, and check the box that says force.
To fix other applications, use the settings below:
Please note that you don't have to check force on every application you change, only if it doesn't respect the settings you choose. So don't use force unless the app won't listen.
Google now: Size - 240 / layout - 360px
youtube: Size - 150 / layout - 720px
stock launcher size: Size - 240 / layout -360px (you should set the options on nova back to default)
