Wifi-Chip is Mediatek MT5931, a single stream WLAN SOC with MAC, Baseband and Radio.

It comes with BT Cooperation to MT6622.

Therefore we see two antennas which could be better positioned. Solderings looks ok. Thanks for pictures to splotz!

=======

First attempt to optimize wifi. Fix to be installed via CWM (copy fix the externalSD, reboot recovery via app RebootMenue, install zip from externalSD).

Based on v3.0.1 it will give you about 10 dBm more. Wifi-Analyser screenshots are taken one floor above the router.

Not specific with this rom (also happened in stock), why the task switcher preview is 180 degree flipped??

Yes, also screenshots are turned around.

To keep a long story short:
on the way from MMA8452 gsensor build in position, kernel event, mma daemon, android os generic to android os specific
the signal will be transposed & mirrored several times. Focus is to have the signal right in specific apps (UI and games).
Therefore we use fakerotation. The reported effects are a consequence of that.

Does battery usage data show up on you rom? I tried it with v3.1 and it doesn't show.

I guess you mean this?

We see the trend not to show the information in a lot of JB builds, especially in JB 4.2.2 builds. This maybe is in conjunction with multiuser.

I'm personally of the opinion that the from the os extrapolated data are not correct. Anyway, the data is there and could be visualisied by One Power Guard for example.

I am loving your 3.1.0 rom :D it is so good! Graphics performance has increased considerably even with Nvidia games which our mali400 gpu do not support. NBA2K13 did lag for me a LOT now with this rom it pays smooth as butter!

GUUUUUYS, follow these steps to IMPROVE camera photos!
THESE STEPS INCLUDE PROOF OF BETTER PICTURE QUALITY
1.) Open camera app, take a still photo of both the front and rear camera at 2m and 5m picture size settings
2.) change the picture size settings on both front and rear cameras to QVGA and retake exact same photos.
Compare photos and notice A BIG difference.

3.) Download Pimp My Rom (alpha over) PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST BE ROOTED
4.)open Pimp My Rom and select "apps&mods" and then select "bravi2"
5.) select install and reboot into CWM
6.)It will say fail for some reason but fear not,
Select install zip from sdcard
select choose zip from sdcard
open pimpmyrom folder
select bravia2
click yes
then yes again
now wipe cache and dalvik cache then reboot
7.)Open pimp my rom again then select the "apps&mods" and select bravia2 again
8.)swipe across the off buttong to turn it on then reboot your device.
Images will now look a lot sharper and nicer on your screen!

hi Oma,

what does format_NAND_fix "fix" for, if i see the script it just format /data and /sdcard ??
when we need this fix actually?

thanks..

btw: your 3.1 is the same as the first release , or is this an updated 3.1 release?

How to start tab in Flash-Modus after flash went wrong :

- start RKAndroid-Tool with admin rights (click right)
- power supply and USB cable plugged
- hard-power off (hold power until screen go black or 20 sec)
- now the kernel will be loaded again (kernel-logo: Padmini A9 4x) to switch to charge mode
- wait until battery pictogram disappear
- press immediately Vol-up and Power together (3-4 sec, until you hear a PC-sound)
- if necessary install usb driver via device manager
- you are now in Flash-Modus (Found in RK-Flashtool / USB-ID 2207:310b)

If the kernel wont start (no kernel-logo) we need RK-Batchtool (factory tool):

- start RK-Batchtool with admin rights (click right)
- power supply and USB cable plugged
- hard-power off (hold power for 20 sec)
- press and hold Vol-up
- release a reset by unplug/plug the power supply (wait 10 sec between unplug and plug)
- repeat until tool shows connected/green (you hear a PC-sound)
- if necessary install usb driver via device manager
- load stock update.img and press restore

Factory tool will not stop if you have defects on the NAND. Please never interrupt a flash!

Good luck!

We will need this fix when we change partition layout on the NAND. For example to enlarge internal storage.
But for the moment I have decided not to change the partition layout because this maybe causes another level of problems.
There are too many beginners around and the Chuwi V88 does not have a reset, which is unbelievable and causes so many trouble.

After some testing the v3.1 image is back online as the kernel #17 is stable.

Can you pls upload the log folder from the RK-Tool you used?

Edit:
ok, I have seen enough logs ....

.... USB cable was disconneted while (!) flashtool was running (directly after writing the bootloader).
This most likely damaged the bootloader on the NAND. Without living bootloader no Flash-Modus.

However, RK-chips have a pin to start the internal bootloader.
Reference: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/19352-unbrick-a-t760/page__hl__rockchip
Unfortunately we do not have any documentation of the RK3188.

NEVER stop a Flashtool nor disconnect cable while flashing !!!!

Wifi-Dongle driver support

Dear OMA,

do you know if there is some wifi-dongle (usb) support in your rom?

Could be good for people who need more then 25m of reception area without walls and would be easier then opening and replacing/modding the antenna.

Kind Regards
Splotz

Negativ. You will need a specific driver in the kernel.
The driver of the specific WLAN stick needs to support rfkill and its software needs to have the android specific enhandsments of rfkill.

PS you can also connect via Ethernet - adapters that works: ID 0b95:772b (ASIX Chipsatz AX88772B), ID 0fe6:9700 (Davicom Chipsatz DM9601)

Imo:
Wait until you can get Pictures of the fix and try to open and fix it.
Or wait until Pictures of a fix and sell it cheaper to someone who wants to try.
