I have created a small tool to check the current firmware-version of our Xperia's in many countries based on the information of the threads on XDA: For example:http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2355985

It is coded with VB.Net 2008 und the .Net-Framework 3.5 have to be installed.

I hope you realize that this may cause serious server overload if many people start using this. The fuas.sonymobile.com server is already terribly slow at times. If Sony notices that this is the cause, they may change to a more complicated system and then we might have no possibility anymore to keep lists like these updated. That's my main concern with programs like this.

I don't know, if the list of XZ receives updates. The tool was formerly created for the XL (http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2355985) and this list wasn't updated for months. My intention was to give the users more transparency. The lists (XL) are useless atm.

Can you add one download button aswell?

Sorry, i can't. You have to download it with pcc.

    Big update version 1.2

Since now it is possible to search for firmware (ftf) for your devices.
I have initialized the database with some entries of my beloved XL.

And because i am lazy as hell the firmware-database is filled by the community.
So be kind and share your links.

    FAQ:

How can i check, if a firmware is available for my device?

Press the button "check firmware" in the upper right.

    pic1h6j6i.png

No firmware or no new firmware is found, what can i do?

Press the button "add firmware" in the lower left.

    pic2l5jbc.png

Fill out the empty fields an press "add firmware".
(the button is disabled after adding, so nobody can spam the database)

    pic3h5jlv.png

Now, your downloadlink is available for the whole community.

    We are back !

Version 1.5.0 is online and running.
Please update your clients. Older clients can't connect to the new database.

    Attention:
The filename has changed from XperiaLUpdateChecker.EXE to XperiaUpdateChecker.EXE.

If you have connection problems, please check your router/firewall.

I am not allowed to promote other websites on this forum. But if you open the new version you can see who is responsible for the faster and more stable database. Thank you very much for this.

    And now:

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines...

    A new beta-version 1.5.3.3 is available!

    What's new?
The database requests and the check of the sony servers are now running in a different thread.
While checking data, the UI remains responsive with this version.

A report system for the firmwares has been integrated. If you find a dead link, you can press the "report-button" and i will check it out.

You don't have to download this version, it's just for testing purposes.
But if you like, feel free to use it!

PS. For the Beta-Testers: Are there any bugs in the new version?
    Plese give me some feedback...

    EDIT:
If you get an error while starting the tool, please download again. Sorry, my mistake...

@Macmol it should have been in cross dev section

Sent from my C2104 using xda app-developers app

You are right. Since today the tool can support more than one device.
I will ask a mod to move the thred.

    Thanx.
