I'm sitting here working and I pick up my phone and apparently there is another OTA available. It is 220.6mb. I'm on rooted KitKat. I'm on T-Mobile and have a D959. Is anyone else getting this OTA?

Here is a link to an awesome apk call "OTA SNATCHER". Just download from play store. Install. And when you have that notification about an update, open the " OTA SNATCHER" apk and click snatch OTA. It will pull the OTA and zip it if not already. It will load it to batakangs (a very talented dev) database for all to use build off of

But I figure its a patch for those of us on 4.2.2 with custom recoveries and/or those that are rooted on 4.4.2 not long after we got the boot loader unlocked on the RAZR Maxx HD Verizon sent out an update that burned the qfuse used to get our boot loader unlocked. So be cautious

I'm wondering if maybe it's a patch that enables VoLTE in my area (Long Island, NY) The service has been spotty in my basement for the past week and a half but within the last three days it has been back to what it was before. I also see an LGLTECall.apk file in the zip which may confirm just that. I have been talking through HD Voice calls for the past month and a half and I have been able to make phone calls and use data while on regular 4G as well.

I think I'm gonna take the plunge and install it and see what it's about. I'm gonna flash back to stock KitKat then try taking the OTA then towelroot.

I did the update on my rooted G Flex running 4.4.2 and so far there is nothing wrong. I still have root access and can still use TB, G2 Exposed, and other root-needed apps.

Confirmed. I went back to stock KK, took the OTA, rooted with towelroot and all is well. It is indeed a VOLTE update as I now have that option to turn on/off voice over LTE in call settings,

I'm thinking I need to unroot in order to take the update when I a rooted stock Rom (D-Fuse)

there appears to be several version of it for various carriers ISIS Search On Google

Looks like a NFC Credit Card storage system. It requires a new SIM card that is fancier

Just go into a T-Mobile store and they will get you sim you need for free. If they try to charge ya just say customer service said it would be free. If you use Isis you can get a buck back if you spend a buck or more. I think it's just when you use the phone to pay and not the card though.

Does this update turn on Wideband LTE if your in the market?

This update enabled VoLTE. Wideband LTE is enabled already on virtually every LTE handset.

I guess the T-Mobile tech I just talked to doesn't know what she's talking about then. She said after I did the update and after 5pm today I would see faster speeds. I'm in Columbus, Ohio getting around 20mbps which is great though.
