Unfortunately no.
Please elaborate on what makes Rec. is better?
This post is talking about a new app dedicated for Android 5.0 (Lollipop) devices https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iwobanas.screenrecorder.noroot.freeXDA blog says SRC can be used with no root? http://www.xda-developers.com/android/src-screen-recorder-no-root/
I would love to buy Pro, but need to be sure this is true since this thread is confusing me. (old guy) I have the Droid Turbo 64gb
This depends on the hardware video encoder capabilities. I'm going to test it when I get some qhd device... Nexus 6 I guess.
You already have such options! To improve recording performance go to SCR Settings and reduce resolution. To get a smaller video file select "Show advanced" in SCR Settings menu and then reduce bitrate e.g. to 500kbps.but it should provide option to make less quality video as well ,i know cus sometimes recording video takes so much data and people like me who have limited net plan cant upload plus when recording videos my phone lags (not problem of this app) thats because my phone aint strong and i cant buy high end phone so making video less quality maybe can help me with size and lags
thanks
Yes, I'm going to work on both versions in parallel untill it's possible to implement all SCR features without root. Currently there is no internal sound support in the non-root version.@iwobanas so since you released a non root version for 5.0 will there be a root version?

This is the official SCR Screen Recorder thread.
There are already couple threads scattered on different devices forums but I wanted a central place to gather feedback etc.
SCR Screen Recorder allows you to record great quality screencasts directly from your phone or tablet. It uses hardware accelerated video encoding to achieve best quality screen recording on any device. It's the only video recorder on the market supporting Tegra device including Nexus 7.

FAQ
I’m getting error message when I start recording, what should I do?
Try changing the resolution or switching between CPU/GPU image transformation mode. Some devices don’t support all settings combinations. If you can’t get any settings to work please tap “Report” button on error dialog and send a full report email including system log.
The recording works fine except the strange colours
Select “Inverted color fix” in SCR Settings.
Video contains some random colors instead of my screen
This is caused by device video encoder crash. It usually can be fixed by changing Resolution.
The video is sideways, how do I rotate it?
Just like default Android Camera app SCR checks the screen orientation when the recording is started and adds orientation metadata to the video file. Some video players (e.g. VLC) ignore orientation metadata and always display video horizontally. YouTube nad default android video player can detect orientation metadata correctly and play vertical videos. If you want a video to use vertical frames instead of rotation metadata select "Vertical frames" in SCR settings. Note that hardware video encoders and video players on many devices don't support vertical frames especially on high resolutions.
I uninstalled SCR but touch indicators don't get removed
Showing touch indicators is an android hidden feature which gets simply enabled by SCR. If you want to get rid of it after uninstalling SCR you can use this app or go to “Settings” => “Developer options” => “Show touches”.
My phone gets really laggy when I start recording
Phones hardware is not designed to record HD video and play 3D games at the same time so I have to push the limits. There is always going to be some slowdown. You can reduce a lag by reducing resolution and frame rate. Lower frame rate and lower resolution means that your phone needs less power for video encoding and has more spare resources to run other apps and games. If you’r running Android 4.3 try GPU+ image transformation mode which is much faster on some devices.

Ok awesome, i now own both pro versions of root and non root for whatever crazy reason i can come up with. imo i don't think you should phase out the root one, I would like to see some features that a non-rooted device can't do. ;0, I dunnoYes, I'm going to work on both versions in parallel untill it's possible to implement all SCR features without root. Currently there is no internal sound support in the non-root version.

I'm working on a workaround for this SELinux issue right now.i have a problem - i had scr screen recorder 5+, but i need internal sound, but on new version of scr screen recorder 0.19.6 alpha (this have internal sound) I have this problem: there is a problem with selinux configuration on your device, make sure your device is properly rooted and switch selinux to permissive mode if possible...
You get what you pay forWhat ;-; just found out you can't record internal sound, no wonder it was cheaper .-.
ye now it's "working" - now I can record but it laggy too much - on kitkat I recorded games etc. and now laggy on home screen thank god you are here and working on app <3 btw. without change to permissive mode we can't record and I found this: there not working front camera - it's all time loading (on permissive working great)I'm working on a workaround for this SELinux issue right now.
You should be able to get SCR working by switching to "Permissive" mode with "SELinuxModeChanger" app for now.
Try changing Video encoder or image transformation in SCR Settings.
There are quire a few benefits of SCR over Screencast:
I'm thinking of opensourcing it but I doubt if anyone will continue work on this project.
