All who have problems with flashing files or download trough Xperifirm. Try to download the Files with Flashtool directly!
Downloaded the CE1 one with flashtool and prerooted it. No problems so far.

Can you explain for all of us how exactly (step by step) to download files with Flashtool and how to preroot it?
Thanks in advance! :good:

The whole thing is explained many times here in Forum, just use the search function and read trough some threads for details...

Short:
Needed Tools:
- Flashtool: http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
- PRF Creator: http://xdaforums.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-prfcreator-easily-create-pre-t2859904
- SuperSU: https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
- XZDR Dual Recovery (Z3C-lockeddualrecovery2.8.15-RELEASE.flashable.zip): http://nut.xperia-files.com/

- Start Flash Tool
- Open "Devices" -> "Check Updates"
- Select your device e.g. D58XX
- Double Click the Firmware you want
- Now Flashtool is downloading and reworking all for you, at the end you have an comnplete ftf file in C:\Users\USERNAME\.flashTool\firmwares\

- Start PRF Creator
- Select FTF, SuperSU and XZDR Recovery File
- If you want you can include flashable zips also e.g. xposed or others
- under Include select all 4 checkboxes and Sign zip (works also without sign zip)
- Press Create and wait until finished.
- Now you have a pre-rooted, flashable Zip File, which you can flash trough your recovery.

Maybe if i find the time i will create a complete tutorial with pictures, but can not promise this ;)
Uploading my pre-rooted ce1 right now ~45min.

Well to me it looks smoother and works a little bit quicker although I didn't see any changes in antutu benchmark. And of course the close all button which for me is a "must be". So basically yeah it is an improvement worth installing

hm interesting ... maybe i cook a quick prerooted one to see it for myself, did the kernel got updated like a newer build date?

I started using the .28 Indian and no complaints yet. Message working in ultra stamina mode and the close all button is much better than earlier version.

Sent from my D5833 using XDA Free mobile app

N00b question: Will unbranded firmware set the Bootloader Allowed status to yes and will I be able to flash using Ubuntu Linux ?

I use branded firmware and I have no ability to unlock bootloader.
