Question: I use USB OTG Helper and it connects my USB to note 3 phone. Is there a hack you are working to make OTG viable on the note 5?

USB otg works natively on the note 5 what wasn't working was USB otg in twrp recovery but now that it's officially supported for our device it works

No you must use a custom kernel now

This is my first experience without an SD card. If I have the rom I'm going to flash on my OTG can I then wipe internal storage as well when making a full wipe?

Yes, all current versions support OTG.
BTW, the latest TWRP 2.0 also supports mounting internal storage while in recovery so you don't even really need the OTG if connected to a PC.
