so i was thinking of rooting my phone. i saw the video on the first post. can i use that same method to root my phone that is 4.1.2 on sprint?? and what are the benefits of rooting other then removing bloatware,wifi tether, and custom roms? im still not sure

I rooted my Samsung Galaxy note 2 using your videos and I am happy with it but now
4.1.2 is out .Sprint sends me the update and I tried to update after the reboot ,it comes back into
custom recovery and I HAVE no idea what to do after that.
I already back up the phone so what are your suggestions .
Is there way to install 4.1.2 and still be rooted or should I follow the video with stock
recovery and if I do that will I loose my contacts .
I am ready to use those new features on the new ,there many more options .
Anyway thanks for your hard work and dedication .

Don't worry about losing your contacts as they are/should be backed up to Google. Using your PC browser, check GMail and from there look at your contacts. As long as they are there, and they will be, once you sync your phone, they will all be back.
Did you root with option 2 or 3? Sounds like 3...
I hope someone can help with this. I bought the phone yesterday and today (after reading this thread) updated the OTA. Then tried the method in the video to root with custom recovery. Well, the custom recovery flashed, but I still did no have root access and Superuser was not installed on phone. I tried to then unroot (following the video) and odin failed and now my phone is stuck on screen saying firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again. I downloaded Kies and I can't get into emergency recovery mode without a code. Apparently if the update was not done in Kies, you cannot enter recovery.... can anyone help with this???
I am sure I did sonething wrong and am not blaming the devs. In fact I donated money to the developer if the toolkit. Threw me iff at first because it was not in US $..lol.

Yeah. I updated and rooted. Had a hiccup (read previous post) but all is good now...

I have a working Hotspot on the Whomp! Rom. It is Wifi Thether-TrevE Mod. I have used this hotspot on other phones and it works great on sprint GN2

Dont know if this is the right place for this question... Is there a way to get the phone back to stock if it is unrooted?

First of all QBking your videos are perfect. I rooted my phone and also got the hotspot working. Here is my dilemma though. I want to take advantage of the multiwindow mod. I followed your directions but I am thinking I have a different build because when I download the LJC deodes rom as per your instructions it goes into a loop. Here are my specs for my device:
Model Number: SPH-L900
Android Version: 4.1.2
Baseband version: L900VPAMA7
Kernel version: 3.0.31-265523
SMP PREEMPT Wed Oct 3 15:59:26 KST 2012

Find the ma7 stock deodex rom. Clear system. Flash.
Clear cache and dalvik because you can. Reboot system.
Because you're on ma7 now, ljc roms don't play too very well with it.

Yes they have a counter. You can get triangle away which will reset the counter. In original andriod development section, go to cf auto root and it should explain everything for you.
Thanks qbking77, love all your videos!2So if we choose option 3, the All in one method, instead of option 2 that would allow for OTAs. What steps would one take to revert back to stock recovery to be able to except OTA updates? Just mainly concerned about the multitasking fix when that becomes available. I know devs will likely get it working and made flashable for those with the custom recoveries but Im just curious for my own knowledge.
Also, if one was to choose to take option 2 for a while, would you run this process over again and choose option 3 to re-root and install the custom recovery?
Extremely new to sammy devices so just want to have all my ducks in a row before I do the root. Not really sure if im going to flash any roms or not until a cm10 drops, but I may get bored in a day or two and decide to. So I wanna know which steps to take after initially choosing option 2 or option 3 during intiial root.1
