I ended up with the Belkin Wallet Folio myself, think that's the one you're talking about from the Verizon store. My impressions of it are here:

I can fit two credit cards and my ID in it, and it works well with my tempered glass screen protector from iloom.
I have the PureGear wallet folio as well, but I don't like the floppy hinge type cover. Much prefer the Belkin design of having a plastic clasp.
For what it's worth, it took a good couple weeks for the Belkin to stretch enough to get 3 cards in and out easily. I don't really ever carry cash, and I've not noticed ANY wallet style folio cases for the Verizon G2 that have a decent cash slot. The PureGear has a cash slot, but with the floppy hinge design I'm not convinced it wouldn't easily fall out.
I finally had to learn that to carry your phone in a wallet style case, you have to trade off the conveniences of a true wallet. It's been worth it for me though.
Anyway, my two cents. Hope it helps some.
