When I run Rom Manager Premium it says my Flash ClockworkMode Recovery is the Latest and Current Version (4.0.1.5)
When I reboot into Recovery (clockworkmodrecovery) it comes up with
Android System Recovery <3e>
with 2 errors :
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
and
E:signature verification failed

I have tried Flashing CWM on but it fails and just keeps booting into the System Recovery 3e
even tried installing the CWM 4.0.1.5 TAR file through Odin (Using it as A PDA)

I have had it boot into CWM once after flashing a CWM.tar file kernel but it would not delete cache etc as it errored with a ext2f4fs? error
saying cannot mount \cache etc
Also had to flash an insecure kernel back to get it booting.

Any ideas please?

Yeah! You need 2e recovery for rom manager to work.

Flash 'cf root' for your firmware with Odin. It will give you the correct recovery and CWM. It will also add cwm app which makes **** easier.

thanks - installed the CF-Root XXKI4 for my firmware via ODIN (PDA).

Now it wont boot and just sits at the Samsung Screen with Yellow Triangle.
Recovery mode goes into CWM 4.0.0.1? and seems ok but when I select reboot it doesnt do anything, just hang on the yellow triangle.

Just flashed the insecure kernel ( GT-I9100_XXKI4_insecure.tar) and working again but back at recovery 3e.

Am I missing something.

I think you need cf root for your firmware kj2 not ki4. Ki4 is your baseband, which is your modem I believe.

See if that helps.

Will get it and try that now

*Edit*

Mate, that worked a charm
Thanks
all ok now - CWM 5 running and a booting system

now do I try and update phone to XXXKI4 all round rather than KJ2 PDA?

Thanks

Excellent! Really glad you got it sorted.

As per the sammibile site, kj2 is a European firmware with xef product code. Not sure which country code is xef.

Kj2 also appears to be a newer build than ki4.

I'm also on ki4, but custom (checkrom).

Anyway, enjoy your newly rooted phone :)

Edit: if you are like me and want to play with different rom's etc, I would recommend you make a backup of your current rom. You can backup and restore from recovery mode or by using the cwm app. I prefer the app - my fingers don't get sore that way. Cwm backups are a lifesaver.
