Very nice tutorial. Excellent video walk through!

Small question, happen to know if you can do all the position work from the recover menu using the down volume key on boot? Can't locate my adapter at the moment... I can give it a try whether you do our dont know tomorrow... Just wondering.

Thanks again!

Help... Hangs at green "HTC" screen on startup

As per an earlier poster (Malkrae) I performed all steps as detailed (including installing linked Android ROM) but on bootup phone hangs at green "HTC" logo.

Every other part of the installation worked a treat in accordance with OPs instructions.

Help..?! Please!

UPDATE: Disregard - after approximately 55 minutes it finally booted! Now boots in normal time. To the OP: You sir, are a frickin' god. Many thanks for your time & efforts.

Job well done

Good work man, we've waited like this post...:)
in fact, time is the only factor that will prove the combination of both OS (WM and Android) are a must on the same device.

This sounds awesome, but I have two questions:
When messing with the partitions, will I lose all my WP7 apps/settings/music/etc?
More importantly, would I have to activate the phone again?
I just finally got everything set up, and I'm not too keen on doing it all over again.

yeh youll lose everything because ryt at the start of the video i do a hard reset, also yes you will need to re-activate

Cant believe this  i was pissing around with my sd card adapter for ages, the write lock was messing up and write protecting my card, tried many fixes, taping it etc etc eventually tried borrowed a card reader from a friend that didnt require an adapter it just had a micro sd slot. n now people are saying they can do it through MAGLDR, that was the first thing i tried and it didnt work! FML

PS also the tuts i read on this said you either need 2 SD cards or 1 sd card with a reader, there was no mention anywhere of using MAGLDR mass storage so i thought, why would they not mention it as its the easiest way, it must be because its not possible

Magldr will work with mass storage mode ok sometimes, but I wouldn't trust it right now until cotulla fixes it. It's known to corrupt files or mess up a few bytes of a file when transferring. If you have nothing else, try using it, but if you have problems, that could be the cause. Cotulla tried fixing it in 1.13, but it still has problems, thats why its listed as experimental in the magldr thread. If you have a card reader, you're better off using that.

Great work!......both WP7 and Android work.....but one small problem....after i setting up my WP7 and all and leave my phone charging and my cell start to retart itself automatically. it did like 2 time and i have to setup WP7 again. what cost that? and i think i need a bigger sd card...when i try to installed HTC HUB or any APPS and it said that i don't have enough space. right now i am using 14gb sd splite between WP7 and Android. suggestion please! thanks u...

Sounds like an incompatible sd card if it's reseting automatically and causing you to set up again. After it reboots and sets up again, it's probably not using the memory card anymore, so that's why you're running out of space. How much memory does it list you as having in wp7? If it's not reading the sd card, it will probably say around 15mb.

Also to anyone having trouble getting any sd android builds working with magldr... I have edited and gotten most sd builds from december til now working great with magldr... I got like 13 out of 15 builds I've tried working well... so if anyone is looking for a specific build, pm me with what build you want and I will be glad to share copies of my edited builds if I have the one you want working.

I just got one question. Do I have to reset my windows phone, in order for me to install android? I'm enfatuated with my wp7, but i feel like trying android on it as well, but I don't want to format my device, and go over the installing all my contacts manually(it's one downer of WP7). If I could get an answer ASAP i would appreciate it!! Thanks in advance!!

That depends on the way you are trying to dual boot wp7 and android.
If you use another sd card for android, and remember not to boot wp7 when the other sd is in your phone (the one with the Android build), then you are fine. If you are trying to boot android from the same sd as wp7 then you will loose your wp7 data, because one of the requirements of setting up the sd card for dual boot is to hard reset wp7.
