For anybody who wants to unlock their bootloaders for FREE during April 6th to 9th, have a look here

This system folder based recovery is GREAT for installing themes and mods, but unfortunately you still an unlocked bootloader for most ROMS!

What the hell, after flashing the new ICS for Arc s into my Arc failed, i went back to GB via SEUS. But now i cant get into recovery mode via CWM, it just stops at the logo. Any idea what is wrong ? i have tried reflashing GB few times now but it doesnt help.

Well it is obvious that i would reinstall it, but still not working, i wanted to restore the backup i had made with CWM, cause i don't want to go trough process av installing all app again. It Stops at Sony ericsson logo when i press anykey to go into CWM mode.

People who can't even figure that out shouldn't be using CWM.

Who are you implying that to Mr. Frankenstein ?

can you tell me step by step what you have done,
eg backup 2.3.4 rom,
flash ICS oficail
then reflash rooted firmware
install CWM
then try to restore backup but leads to bootloop?

i can confirm that this works i have done it twice today :p

Ignor it... no need to poke the bear. also no need for those sort of comments.

What i have done is, yesterday i tried to flash this new ICS official into my Arc ( with locked bootloader), i got the same error as others who got Arc. After that used SEUS to go back to GB, rooted it, installed CWM, when i shutdown my phone ( does not have restart mode yet), at the Sony Ericsson logo when i press any key to enter into CWM mode,it just stops at sony logo like forever, i have tried re flashing GB and installing CWM again and again same result. By the way each time i have used SEUS to repair.

ok only thing i can think of is to try to use a different method for installing OR, after you have installed and before you reboot check all the files are ok in system

there are 4

system/bin/chargemon -> should be around 900 bytes, 755 perms
system/bin/charger -> should be around 57 k, 755 perms
system/bin/recovery.tar -> should be around 1.8 mb, 755 perms
system/xbin/sh -> should be about 715k, 755 perms

i think your problem will be in the chargemon but i cant comment without some more info.

how did you root and what firmware are you flashing? (what firmware does SEUS give you)

Well i rooted my Arc using zergrush's expolit which Doomlord has made, and the firmware that SEUS gives me is 0.42.

Thanks

I just wanted to say thanks as I needed a way to get back to an old ROM which had my data for apps on it, but had relocked my PLAY's bootloader, and also got to original ROM, and Kernel so having this allowed for me to get back to clockwork mod recovery to fix it, Thanks so much,

Hi,

I have official ics on arc s, since I've installed this, my phone doesn't have offline charging, it just bootloops until I disconnect charger and naturally turn phone on or I restart using cwm menu.

Can you get offline charging working on ics Rom?

    Howdy All!

So We've been Busy yet again
And we are proud to re-release This Tool.
    Whats new

All New UI that uses the ActionBarSherlock framework to give full Holo theme + Action Bar to devices pre ICS

To support more phones i have had to change the way the app works.
    (OLD VERSIONS AVAILABLE IN ATTACHMENTS)
    What it does now
1 - Check your phone model and compare it to a list of supported devices.
2 - If you phone is supported you can pick any of the supported CWM versions for you phone.
3 - When you click install it will download the CWM "recovery.tar" to your SD-card .
4 - Build you a "chargemon" file to match you phone.
5 - Take the charger + sh file from within the app.
6 - It then backs all the previous files up to the SD-Card and moves all the files to system as needed.
7 - if there are no problems then it is done and CWM is installed(into system)

    Comming Soon
With the new app i am also able to do many new things that were not possible in it's last incarnation

    (in no particular order)
    1-Click De-Bloating of Stock Firmware
1-Click Enable of Init.d support for locked Bootloaders / Stock Kernels
Few more in the works too

    Many more phones
My current plan is to support most Xperia devices
My current plan is to add these soon
    X10, X8, Xperia S, U, P, Sola
also if there is no compatibility issues the app does not need to be updated to add phones / recoveries. I can do it all server side.

This App will work with the Sony Xperia porfolio. it will install CWM into the system partition so you can use recovery even with a locked bootloader!

    Usage

    Launch the Application,
Swipe Between Tabs or Pick Tabs
Let it detect your phones setup
Press Install and CWM will be installed into your system.

To access recovery simply, reboot phone and press any key on boot at the Sony Ericsson logo, when the notification LED turns Blue. or use the "reboot to recovery" button from within the app.

    Recovery
Currently there are 2 recoveries that are able to be installed

    2.3.* Roms
5.0.2.7 for GB Roms (nobodyAtall) [link]

5.5.0.4 Recovery for ICS Based ROMS (pvyParts)

replace the charger file with this one for me and test if it works.

    NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP!

extract and use root explorer or similar to replace the one in system/bin/

    perms should be 0755 or
    x 0 x
    x 0 x

Also let me know if it does or does not work.

No offence but Se tweaker and some other ways (doom lords touch screen enabled) CWM are already in Locked Bootloaders and Unlocked bootloaders.

i saw it, just saying ;)

    Offence aside.

This app requires you to know how to use your phone and thats it.
No need to get your pc talking to your phone in debug mode

this can be quite hard for some ppl especialy if you use pc's at a library or a iCafe ect. or have a PC that has broken bits. or maybe your usb port is broken. i think you get the point.

kindly point me to where these apps do this and i will be more than happy apologise.

Comments like yours are why developers leave phones and never come back. maybe keep that in mind. :) just saying you know.

i will not reply to any more post of this type as it is not what this forum is about! I Kindly ask that you pm me if you have any more to say so we can keep this thread clean.

    Thanks Pvy.

No offense but you may have noticed that this in an app, it works without PC, directly from your phone.
It uses nAa files, exactly like the tools you mentioned. Only it makes it easier. Sorry about that... :p
So no offense, but please take some time to understand before passing judgement.
    No offense. :p
