hi dear.. excuse me but i really like this rom but as usuall the data connection is so buggy.. it keeps disconnecting over and over!! plz how can i fix it?? please

A fresh install is not not going to work for you. believe me I tried. And warren and cope can not fix this.

It comes down to that your radio rom together with the windows rom and android rom, are not compatible with each other.

My advice, try a Nand rom.
Personally, I never had data connection problems anymore after I removed Windows mobile and installed [MAG/cLK] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.2a (GWK74)(Android 2.3.7)[tytung_r13] on Nand.
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=905060

Phone is much much faster too, even in games.

How do you work that out, when the majority of users, with different radios and different WM Roms have no problems. Perhaps you should be suggesting a combination that will work well?

If you are going to suggest a Nand ROM, you should be suggesting ACA, or at least another CM7 ROM. One good point in your post... you haven't recommended a Sense ROM.

I am not at all convinced that the majority of users have no data disconnects.
In fact, for the longest time, reading this thread, I thought everyone had them.

I did not suggesting a combination that will work well, because a combination that works well for one, doesn't always work for another.
and I did not find one.

Here is warren himself a few pages back:
"Ill be switching us to the 35 port of the cm kernel marc1706 has been primarily working on within the next couple weeks. We should see far less data drop."

Likewise though, [MAG/cLK] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.2a (GWK74)(Android 2.3.7)[tytung_r13] on Nand, *may* not solve it for everyone. I don't give any guarantees.
Last, I did not suggest ACA Nand, because I didn't try it.

....

I'm taken out of context. Relatively speaking far less data drop. Data drop hasn't been really much of an issue but with 35 its been nice. I work IT. My phone being connected is key. Different radios behave differently and every build using the ril wrapper occasionally encounters issue with data stability unless they compromise to using the slower rmnet.

My issue has been more one with tmobiles pathetic ass coverage even in urban areas where they claim to shine.

data drops solved. for me!

I locked in the settings: wifi & network / mobile network / GSM+UMTS Networksettings.

I've seen the setting is: only GSM.

Then i control the settings under the code:
*#*#6436#*#* Telephone Information, my Favorite Network.

I've seen the setting is: WCDMA only.

So I've change it also to only GSM.

From now on, I've never had Data drops.

Maybe the issue comes, from my data.img or from my different kernel.

But of shore it is solved for me.

Hope it helps some other users with this issue or configuration. :D

Sorry for my very bad English, this text comes from my Head without help from a translater.
I've had only two years English anno 1974 in school
and I'm sitting near by the Window.

I do not know about you guys but this data drop issue is a hit and miss for me.

Used to clean install to avoid it but found out after that it does not help.

Now I just copy over the files and this time around no data drop coming from a data drop version.

And I can expect the problem will return on the next installment.

Or not.

That's a problem, that is present since Android version 2.3.4. The best solution is to boot into WM to copy files to your card, or to insert the card directly to card reader, and do the copying. After you have finished, boot into android again. Another workaround is to install Multimount widget from market, but it has been said, that using it might lead to data corruption on the sd card.

This post is intended to bring Sensor problems to light (lol)

(I have searched only in XDA in HD2 sections, there are of course other phones with the same problem, a quick google search gives 10 times more topics about the same problem on the same phone on other sites, so yeah, were not minority and the problem really renders the phone useless after calls, the luxury of being able to check messages/time/play games/record call/turning on any app, during & after a call, things so basic, is something we live without every day)

So please :( dont shrug your shoulders and ignore this, If we all help out we could solve this problem, and for those who get annoyed about multiple threads about the same thing, we could have had 13 threads less (motivation anyone?) :);)

this issue seems to have no solution and it seems not to boder at all to many developers (my sentence looks strange , isn`t it?) `cause first of all this happen only in low light (evening , night) when if you bring near a strong light , a bulb or a cigarete lighter it will come back to screen on . what i use is SCREEBL https://market.android.com/details?id=com.keyes.screebl.lite&feature=search_result from market with IN-CALL BEHAVIOR == SCREEN LOCKED ON and when i call a number and if i want to dial an extension i will keep still the mobile in horizontal position and the screen will remain on untill i move it to ear . then , you know , black screen during and after call as usual but will be on after hang up sometimes pressing windows button .

You can use lcd density app from market.
Change to 240 or 160 depending on how good your eyesight is;)
Note you have to change it on each reboot.
A more permanent change can be done depending on whether you use magldr.
For magldr, use file browser lite app and edit system/build.prop, fiind ro.lcd-density and change to one of the above values.
For clrcad/haret booting, just edit the startup.txt using a text editor to one of the above values.
You could then follow robE's advice and change all mention of HD2 in build.prop.
Good luck

First I want to thank the devs for a great job over the last year while I've been an avid user of their excellent SD roms....

....but the time has come to go NAND as even though I love ACA, with my new job, data drops is something that can actually cost me money.

I know this may seem slightly off topic for this thread, but I want to hear from current ACA users about what NAND would be closest experience to our ACA.

I just want a nice snappy, and stable NAND rom - no bells and whistles - just one that works and is solid as a rock for Tmous.

Thanks for any suggestions!

.............. but I want to hear from current ACA users about what NAND would be closest experience to our ACA.
...
i used SD ACA for 7 months , switched (actually bought a 2nd HD2 to be safe) to MAGLDR-NAND ACA and it's
+smoother
+faster
+less energy-hungry (in full action with SD-build: ca. 30% battery per hour, NAND slightly less. consumption in standby: with SD: 10% in 10hours vs max 3% in 10 hours with NAND)
-data drops: unfortuneatly with every ACA build (SD / NAND) *i* (EU model, provider: Alice / O2, 3year old SIM card) have to toggle 2G/3G and/or mobile data on/off to actually start mobile data in 80% of all cases..and with NAND i even have to reboot in 20% of the cases to actually get it to run...
maybe it's resisting sometimes because i switch from WLAN to mobile data
i uses a Jabra- BT3030 BT-headset which might be an energy-sucker after switching it off.

You might not regret the move if you have similar results like me.... but what i learnt here: there seem to be so many different behaviours of our HD2 that it's impossible to predict what you will get with your device and your configuration (ROM/bootloader type,SIM/provider, net coverage in your area,SDCard and build +Apps+ settings)

    Installation & Updating:
Installation & Updating Proceedure is the same!:
Download the build to your pc.

    1. americanandroid.7z -> unzip!
    2. copy folder unzipped\AmeriCanAndroid\Android -> to -> \sdcard\Android
(COPY THE WHOLE FOLDER.. NOT JUST INDIVIDUAL FILES!!!!!!)
(!If you are UPDATING.. choose overwrite when prompted - no need to delete anything!)
    3. in winmo, run clrcad.exe and haret.exe in the \storage card\Android\ folder. OR
(alternatively install exceller bootloader for winmo for one click or AUTO launch of Android OS)

first boot always takes a long time be patient, it will work, and future boots do not take as long.

    bkup2sdext users read below
    - To enable backup of apps and data to your sd-ext partition edit /system/build.prop change
@ the bottom aca.bkup2sdext.enable to =1 (change back to 0 to disable)
*to enable restore of /data/data edit /system/etc/shutdown.d/02shutdown and add data after
for i in app app-private so you end up with
    for i in app app-private data;
    save, then reboot.

-!! During day to day use; it is MOST important to SHUTDOWN and not pull batt,
as this is when your data gets backed up to the sd-ext partition.. !!

    - Your device will auto restart after about 5 to 10 minutes from when android starts loading.
This shut down is required to complete the restore of existing data to a new build.

    - added data to bkup2sd so now all user data and app settings are saved to sd-ext ;) (partitioned sdcard users)
    - added solution to my senario 4. now uninstalling an app normally uninstalls it from sd-ext partition on device shutdown. ;) so try not to pull your battry if you just uninstalled some stuff, otherwise it will be back when you reboot as the device didnt go though a proper shutdown.
    - adjusted the timer on the data reconnection from 3 to 4 seconds. hopefully wont be short enough to not get annoying, but long enough to let the connection completely die before rebuilding it. (blah blah geek speak.... i am playing with data... you probably wont even notice anything!)
    2/21/11:
    - (partitioned sdcard users only)
NEW app & dalvik-cache auto backup to sd-ext (early stages EXTREMELY
promising !! - this replaces app2sdext feature introduced in feb 11 build.)
if you lose your data.img or format your fat32 partition or upgrade your build. (will work for this build # and moving forward)
all your apps and their program files, all data from your dalvik-cache, is all restored on first boot. (first boot will take some time) this restores the speed of prior to aps2sdext, but now works for us instead of against us
    - Fixed Voice Capability
    - Docent has updated is swap partition feature (partitioned users only)
    - New kernel. WarrenB r2.21
    - UTF8 & tun working again.

    - [B]we both recommend installing setCPU to extend battery life. (we do NOT recommend changing ANY settings at all. Set to interactive and walk away.[/B])

-building process refined ten fold. much cleaner.
-apps2sdext* added. [B]only effects users with a partitioned sd card[/B].
*your apps can essentially survive fat32 partition corruption & format /(and or) data.img loss) makes for updating builds a DREEEEAM!.
Users w/o partitioned sdcards dont worry just proceed as you always have.
-all other features carry over from WarrenBread and Cope's SD builds.
    working:
gps, bt (no AVRCP yet), wifi, data 2G(with reconnect after call as it should be), data 3G(no dropped data on call or end call), camera & video camera.
