The Dialer looks fine to me:

Screenshot_2012-03-29-21-25-30.jpg

This is much more smoother than 19.03 (talking about Trebuchet here).

Panorama doesn't have a preview and gives a FC (I have a greens lens). Also the camera shutter/focus sound is back, and the shutter can also be heard while taking a screenshot too. I got rid of them by going with RootExplorer to /system/media/audio/ui and renaming camera_click.ogg and camera_focus.ogg to camera_click.mp3 and camera_focus.mp3.
When exiting the camera app the display brightness remains set to maximum for a few seconds, no matter what illumination conditions are present.
Tried videorecording: made a 52 seconds clip, but after I stopped the recording it froze for a second when it should save it and then crashed. It seems that it's not working for me (green lens).
Edit: I found that video in the Gallery (or /sd/dcim), but it can't be viewed neither on the phone, neither in the PC (using Ubuntu 11.10, VLC player). The video file has almost 12 mb.

i'm in the 7.2 nightly. Defy with red lens
do i need to flash the kernel after flashing the cm9?

It's easy to go from CM7.2 to CM9. If you are on the Froyo kernel, and want to use a Froyo kernel build (latest being 29.03 by Epsylon3), no, you don't need to flash the kernel.

Edit: Played with 29.03 a bit more - it's much more faster than 19.03, in every aspect (launcher, Dialer, messaging, drawer and even the lag on the SwiftKey X keyboard seems gone :D). Gonna reboot and then I'll see if and how deep sleep is working.

Just to confirm everything vap_66 have said about this latest release.
On top of that:
- 2g/3g cannot be switched from toogle menu
- wifi from toogle still has that delay when activated and switched off
- No HWA, thus no Chrome
- Speed wise, pretty much in lign with 19th March release

That`s what I`ve found at a first glance.

Co5min is correct about the notification bar: 2G/3G toggle still doesn't work, and wifi toggle still has that delay when turning off. I don't have Chrome installed, so I don't know about HWA (didn't try flash in the browser either). But for me it seems way smoother than 19.03 :D.
I'll wait some more to test it further, but deep sleep seems to be working fine.

Thaaaanks! :) notify us if you see difference!

What's about videorecording?

Video recording doesn't work here, red lens regular defy.

No HWA. You can tell by the lack of a shaded background in system settings. Examples below.

No HWA:

With HWA:

one more question
do i need to full wipe or just cache and dalvik?

If you go from CM7.2 to CM9 you need a full data wipe, besides cache and Dalvik cache. You must wipe data in the Stable Recovery, as stated in the first post of this thread. And don't forget about the ICS gapps.
Remember, you will lose all data, settings and apps, if they're not backed up with Titanium Backup or something similar.

@tlongren: Then it means that the launcher margins (when in the last screen from one side or the other) should be antialiased too. They're not in non-HWA builds (so they look pixelated):

I got around 900 kB/s, but I think that they're a bit overloaded now (that means that a lot of people want to taste ICS 4.0.4 :D).

I want to say that deep sleep seems to work just fine for me (29.03 by Epsylon3, Froyo kernel, greens lens):

TO CLEAR YOUR CONFUSIONS ABOUT GB KERNEL ICS AND FROYO KERNEL ICS

I have seen lot of confused user out there asking about which kernel to flash and stuff... So here u go read below...
So our beloved Awsome Developers make two types of nightlies
    1-For DefyPlus(Can Also be used on Defy(RedLens))
These are the GB/CM9 kernel builds
These are found under /cm9-nightly-defy+/ folder of the servers which we have
To install these you need to follow the TuT to install ICS Defy Plus Above...
Green Lens Camera Wont work on these builds

2-For Regular Defy(Do not work on Defy plus)
    These are Froyo/CM7 kernel Builds
These are found under /CM9-Nightly-Defy/ folder of the servers which we have.
To install these follow the TuT to install CM9 ICS FOR Defy stated above

3-Well there is no 3rd build(There is The MileStone2 Port by Walter79,But now that we have camera on our builds that one is not usefull...)

+ICS bugs (all kernel versions) http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1381887

    Doesn't Work (not supported yet):
    -Panorama
    -HWA a bit buggy

If you find any bug please post it here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1381887
If the bug is specific to this kernel version please post it in this thread.

CM9 Music app (delete Music.apk from system/app, reboot, then install this):

ok, you know what? i tired of this. I'm reading in all kinds all replys (here and in other threads/PM): from good job to being dissapointed by the way i manage(update) this thread. I'm sorry for those of you who are dissapointed (but bear in mind that i do this for free, in my spare time, for you) and lots of thanks for those of you who appreciate my efforts in keeping this as "up-to-date" as I can. But I can't do this no more... users are getting upset for being to much threads about this, and since I'm not the developer nor have anything to do with the development of ICS, I will ask a moderator to close and archive this thread.

It was nice while it lasted. See you around:) Cheers!

     Feedback:--GodSlayer--:
Comes with Google Apps pre installed
    Added Defy ROM Updater
Camera one step foward: There is shutter opening sound( or something of that sort ), Camera app doesn't just Force Close anymore. Still cannot connect to camera
    UI is somewhat faster.

    What is Defy ROM Updater?
A ROM Manager like app, it allows to
    Check for updates
Perform all wipes( Davlik, app, data )
    Backuping and Restoring the ROM
    Entering Recovery Mode.

    29-Jan-2012:
     Feedback:--GodSlayer--:
    UI is much faster
    3G Works rather well
Added Interface: Launcher, Interface:Themes, Launcher:System in settings
    Added Personal:Profiles in Settings
    Added System:Performance in Settings
Camera very very soon - when you usually open camera, there is that sound, in this build, it has that sound but camera app force closes.
Added Music app( CyanogenMod 7 )
Added Dev Tools - ( don't remember it in previous version, perhaps I am mistaken )

    -Fix sensors
    -mms.apk
    -music.apk
    -pin-code...etc

thanks for the reports, i fixed the apn window (merge problem, aosp 4.0.4 merge was not fast-forward) and the wifi off from notification bar by a temporary hack...

for the video, its still very sensible code, and our device familly (omap3) is almost fully ignored by cyanogenmod team ....

bootmenu and Usb apps have now the official ICS branch, but wifi camera and codecs will be a hell again to be merged...
    33
This build is test of hwa with some fixes..
Fully hwa we can use only after new gl libs, but for now we can't use new libs(thanks to moto for that)
On defy+ hwa completely unstable, than on defy.
