8 digits where? Definetly not in the dialer?

Sent from my Amaze using xda premium

Sorry...first turn on then turn off Airplane mode. That's how you get it to say its network locked. Then any 8 digits. Then it reboots. Then airplane mode on and off again. And it un-dulls the settings.

Edit: ill reflash it and put up a pic of the un-dulled settings.

Ok so i don't quite understand how you're doing this. So first you boot up the phone and then it will connect to your network then what do you do from step 1

Boot up

Turn on airplane mode then turn it off.

It'll say its network locked.

Slide the ring. It'll take you to a number pad.

Enter any 8 digit number. It'll say network unlock successful and ask you to reboot

Reboot

Turn on airplane mode the turn it off again.

Then QUICKLY click mobile networks.

All settings are then undulled.

But it won't save an APN.

Take the apn-confs.xml from any cm9 build at get.cm it's in /system/etc and put it in your /system/etc see how that works

Downloading Hercules build now.

Edit: no luck. Caused problems with the radio. Kept turning the radio on and off and couldn't stay connected to GSM

I was messing with this today. I was just trying some netcfg commands to force data on
Everything I tried just timed out. If anyone else have any other ideas.

Using term get Su
Type the following..

netcfg rmnet0 up
netcfg rmnet0 dhcp

But times out. Any pointers?

Guys,

In order to get the network working we have to edit Phone.apk, TelephonyProvider.apk, framework.jar and replace some libs.

Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

That's understood I just don't have time to sit down and spend some time on that so trying to find a cheap workaround

Seems like you're going to be spending more time and more headaches later on with a "cheap" workaround.

So we know what we have to do to get true GSM/data working but no one to do it?

OK doing these steps with this rom, I was able to reproduce my "highlighted" APN settings, these steps pretty much have to be installed and reboot as I posted 1-6, so do step 1 reboot, step 2 reboot, and so on, make sure you over write the file if one already is in the folder, as this must make a difference, I did not get the highlighted APN setting until I over wrote the ext.jar that was modded for me with the "pyramid" string modded to say (true) not sure if its that setting or just the different ext.jar ,,,also don't forget to add / replace the "rild" in the system/bin folder. the "rild" is also in the system.zip download that I linked in my post.:cowboy:

NO, data is not "on", the network / APN's do highlight and you ARE able to access them and turn them on, off, and see the APN settings, however, the network or "phone" is stuck on the (turning on) stage, so in short if the network would turn on ALL THE WAY, yes we would have data

See attached screen shots..

Not sure if this will help but the settings I use has never given me any issues. I combine both APN's into 1.

1 - I rename "T-Mobile Data" to "T-Mobile US"
2 - In the MMSC line, add "http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc"
3 - APN Type at the bottom should read "default, supl, mms"

I don't think it'll make a difference but worth a try. Let know if this helps

You need to stop coming into this thread and take shots at this guy. PM him if you need "credits". Oh and if you have to beg for it... I don't think it carries the same weight anymore, you know ?

Let me clarify one thing, this work is purely based on mdeejay sensation port and is nothing to do with team nightmare's early build.

I agree. They should not form together. Let them aide each other but not have 1 ROM. The more different ROMs, the merrier. He can customize it his own way and TN can do it their way. Competition is what creates innovation :)
